He was born February 21, 1920 to Minnie W. and Travis L. Powell in Panama Canal Zone.
He was a veteran of WWII Army Air Corp and US Air Force. In 1976 he retired from civil service.
Mr. Powell is a former resident of Mobile, Alabama. He loved outdoor sports, gardening and fishing.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nolan, Isthmein, Loranzo and Warren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Birdie Powell; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Joyce Carter; brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Elizabeth Powell; and his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Louise and Luther Jenkins.
