

Frederick Saporsky Jr. passed away on August 24, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 76. He was born in Gary, Indiana on August 2, 1945 to Frederick Saporsky Sr. and Helen Patrick Saporsky. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara Lakomek Saporsky; younger siblings: Ronald Saporsky and Sandra Ilic (Tom); children: Frederick Saporsky III (Jamaica Cheuvront Saporsky) and Adam Garrett Saporsky (Alena Weber Saporsky); and grandchildren: Ethan, Eric, Riley and Brady. He is also survived by eight nephews and seven nieces.
Fred was a veteran of the Vietnam War (68-69) and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart. He served in the US Army Reserve for over 20 years and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a 1963 graduate of Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science in engineering from Purdue University and his M.B.A from Webster University. He retired in 2016 from Ultrafryer Systems in San Antonio, Texas after 23 years of dedicated service.
Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was very proud of his sons and grandsons and was supportive of their endeavors. He enjoyed frequenting restaurants, working on his swimming pool, and reading. He was known for his pleasant demeanor and being easy to talk to. He enjoyed discussing the Bible and was a member of Cornerstone Church. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, and several engineering organizations. He was a scout leader and Sunday school teacher. He was very loved and will be deeply missed.
