He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Freda Louise and Freda Semaan, both of San Antonio and was predeceased by his wife, Frances Semaan Wilkins and mother, Ora Lou Wilkins.
He served as a veteran of World War II as a Lt. Colonel in the Army and authored several volumes on the Texas Rangers.
He and his wife were donors of near-eastern artifacts to the San Antonio Museum of Art. Recently, because of an article about his love of dogs, he became known as "the biscuit man of La Jara".
