October 3, 2006 To Galacion?s Family Phyllis, Robert, Jimmy and Gilbert, My deepest regret to each of you for the behavior of certain members of our family for the remarks they chose to make in our brother?s and your father?s memory. It?s so sad that they put all they did in his memorial but they just don?t know any better. I wish they had just expressed their sympathy in your loss and expressed their sorrow in Gala?s passing and left it at that. It seems they needed to express more of their life?s history and they felt the whole world should know. All they should care about is what you all are feeling and not what they want to say by throwing darts at the rest of the Olivarez brothers and sister who are left behind. Of course, you all are what matters at this time. They have used no judgment in their choice of words for the memorial for Gala and for that I am very sorry. You know this amazes me how they really didn?t know your father but yet after his passing, continue to make statements as to how much they will miss him and how much they loved him and how he was the only one who cared for their mother. Please accept this apology from me for the rest of the family. Last but not least, it is your father?s memory that is the most important and nothing else matters. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Although you may have never seen much of me and my family I am always thinking of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. I love each and every one of you and always reminisce of the times that we spent together. My fondest memory of Galacion is when he visited Kaufman several years ago. I still recall the conversations and the time shared during his visit. My oldest son and I shared a walk in the country to an old abandoned house with Galacion and I recall every minute of it to this day. It is simple memories like these that make short times together special. Your father?s involvement with the Shriners is also very special. Great men like him make it possible for disabled children to receive free medical treatment. I speak from experience as his involvement expedited my son?s acceptance to the Scottish Rite Hospital. To GT?s Family You have our sympathy in the loss of your father and we know this is a hard time for each of you. We will always treasure the times he spent with us in Kaufman. He enjoyed himself so much and often joked that he got off his diet to eat home cooked food. I am very thankful that I got to visit with GT on the phone a few weeks before he passed from this life. We didn?t get to see each other often due to distance but we did call each other from time to time and he was a special person. Regards, Norman & Angela Olivarez

I cannot imagine the grief that you are experiencing at this time. Words like 'he is in a better place now' and 'we'll see him again someday', true as they are, just can't comfort. What I will say is that Jesus said in Mathew 5:4 that Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted. Ecclesiastes 3:4 says there is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. Let us weep and mourn now and be comforted, but then let us look forward to the laughter and the dance! 
Thank your for your gracious love to my mom and dad. May God richly bless you spiritually, physically, mentally, emtionally and financially - forever.

To my uncle Gala, 
 You were the only true sibling my mother had and she is most saddened by your death.We will always remeber the many times that mom and dad would take the family to see you in the parades you marched for many good causes.We enjoyed the visits with you afterwards enjoying the strawberries you would bring to mom. Even though she is saddened by this she knows you and her will see each other again one day in heaven.please save her a good spot!

To my uncle and a great brother to my mom. uncle gala, you were a great man and you were always there for mom, your weekly phone calls to her always made her day. we always knew when you called cause she would be filled with much joy. thank you for showing her the love and respect that only a true brother and sister can share.I can happily say that the last days she spent with you meant more to her than anything in life.I know in my heart that you and mom and mama mage' will truely be reunited oneday. again, you will be greatly missed by mom and the entire salas family. Isaiah chapter 54 verse 17. any weapon what ever that will be formed aginst you will have no success, any tongue at all that will rise up against you in the judgment you will condemn.
