Gary was a best friend of my son Brandon and a family friend. Gary loved life and I will miss his beautiful smile that he always brought to my home. Many memories and they will forever be in my heart. Luv You Gary

Over the years, Gary made periodic visits to where some of the family resides here in San Luis Obispo County, CA. When my now adult boys were younger, we of course still had bikes around. Most were inexpensive models; Sears, K-Mart or something along those lines. Gary would be delighted to just get two wheels on the ground (well not always on the ground!) after a long road trip on four wheels from San Antonio. 

Many years ago, my oldest son Josh had won a Mountain Dew drawing at the local Morro Bay Harbor Festival. It was for a new bike. I guess Mountain Dew is still pretty big in BMX circles but we had no clue. I couldn’t tell you the brand of bike now but folks said this was no cheapee. All I know is it had a heavy duty, indestructible chrome frame painted Mountain Dew green. On the front and rear of the frame were extensions to put your feet or for standing up. I was told it was for “freestyle” but wasn’t sure if that was the style I wanted for my kids. It was still around for my younger son Joe to use too when he came along. 

I remember Gary visiting some years later and lighting up when he spotted that bike. He knew exactly what it was and always had all the info on bikes and skateboards. It was his passion. Whatever we might have around in terms of a bike or skateboard, cheap or otherwise, off he would go merrily down the street. Gary “Rad” was in heaven then just as he is now and with that same smile on his face that we have all known and loved. 

I saw you too few times over the years nephew but will always treasure the visits we did have.

Gary was my dear nephew. He stayed with my partner and I when he came to Califonia. He loved Morro Bay. He was a kind, gentle, loving man. Like his mother, he lit up the room and made us smile, and he still does. How wonderful that he had a someone special, at last. We love you, Gary. You made our world a better place. Our love and support to all his family & friends.

We would like to offer our condolences to Gary's family and Allie. We regret that our time with Gary was not longer but know that the loss is a great one. The last time we saw Gary it was obvious that him and Allie were very happy together. It is so fortunate that they found that love in each other. So many people go a lifetime without it. Gary will be missed by all of us that met him, knew him or loved him. May God see your family through these hard times and may all of us that knew Gary keep his memory alive.

I met Gary in 1999 through my best friend whom he dated for about 4 yrs. After they went seperate ways my boyfriend and I continued to keep in touch with Gary because he was our friend. We are so blessed to have known Gary. To the family my sincere condolences he will be missed very very much. Allie keep your head up sweetie and remember God will not put you through anything you can't handle, be strong. GARY WE LOVE YOU!!!

Met Gary in 6th grade and had many great times with him. He was honest, loyal and very giving. He was there for me many times. I will miss his laugh and his smile. Rest in Peace, Gary, We love you.

I met Gary through Missy more than 16 years ago - before I met Todd. Through the years, our family shared many memories with Gary including camping at Garner State Park and many barbeques. Gary was always very loving with our daughters, Skye and Stratton. He would always make thoughtful comments about how beautiful and well mannered they were. His laugh and smile were infectious - as was his love for his friends. Gary was always resilient, and Todd and the rest of us will forever miss him. May he rest in God's arms and find the peace and solace that Heaven offers.

Rest in peace, Gary. You will be sorely missed by many and i am thankful to have known you. It was your encouragement that pushed me while i rode BMX, as well as many others. I will not forget my many memories at 'the tank' where i spent all of my teenage years....we will not forget you!

I hope it?s some comfort to Gary?s family to know how much he was loved & respected. I met Gary through my granddaughter Lindsey and her mom, my daughter, Lee Parker some years ago. He was truly like a member of the family and though I was unable to attend the Memorial service, I was there in spirit and in my heart. We all have treasured memories of Gary with his big heart and big bright smile and I know he?s smiling now being reunited with his mother, his aunt and his beloved dog, Simba together again. Gary is gone from us now for a little while, but he will never be forgotten.

Gary will be missed very much. He was a blessing to me and many that I know through the BMX community. My condolences to Gary's family and those that were near and dear to his heart.

I didn't know Gary as an adult - we are cousins that lived states away from each other but I have memories of a sunny little boy with a winning smile. I see by his photo that that smile stayed with him.

Gary is a very close friend of mine...He was a mentor to me since I was fifteen, he took me under his wing and like many others, Gary gave us the best fatherly/been there done that advice that he knew. Everything he did was out of compassion and love, it's hard to write these words because I know that Rad will always live on, not only with me but with the countless souls that he touched... I knew Gary from work at Olmos. I admired him for pursuing a business that he enjoyed. Gary will be missed.

Gary and I were friends in middle school. I lived on the street over from his in Eden. I remember he and our friend Jaime would ride their bikes all over the field at the end of Le Blanc. The first, and ONLY, time I rode a dirt bike it was Gary's and I rode it in socks. Got the sock stuck in something and tore open my toe. He helped me home and tried not to laugh too hard:-. We've known of Gary for some time, as my mother, Angel, and his father had been good friends for many years. We are very sorry to hear of your loss. We got to know Gary personally for a while when he had The Tank; our son and his friends truly enjoyed the experience he afforded them. He was a good guy and this is a sad tragic loss. Gary was a friend of mine and many others, I remember working with him all weekend on the nose of the coping in his bowl. 
He was a hard worker and a fierce friend.

Gary was a gift from God. He was a kind, caring and loving person who inspired and motivated many, both young and old. He gave many the confidence and encouragement that they needed in their lives. He also brought a wonderful gift to our city, a place where a community of BMX riders and skateboarders could come together and perfect their talent. There is no other like Gary. He will be greatly missed.

This is a true tragedy. Gary was a very nice guy. My oldest son loved going to the Tank - you could say it was his "home away from home". My youngest son went there as well and made a great video from the footage he got of the guys riding. Gary made a safe place for all the boys to hang out instead of them being out on the streets and I, as a mom, always appreciated that. Gary will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Gary was a really nice boy, and a really nice man. The twisted people who committed this unspeakably foul act will be dealt with by divine law, and hopefully also by criminal law. This violence in our midst must end. Our love to his family and all who knew him.
