While in England the family visited The White Cliffs of Dover and Buckingham Palace where they saw the Queen. Back to San Antonio and then to Germany in the late 1960s. In Germany the family traveled to Italy, Holland and through the Alps of Austria. Then, once again back to San Antonio where he retired after 24 years of active duty, at the rank of SMSgt.
He spent one year at Randolph painting airplanes, along with one of our cars and several of our bicycles.
Then spent another 19 years as an electrician for Civil Service at Lackland AFB before retiring at the age of 65. Upon retirement Gay and Peggy moved to Spring Branch, TX
Gay loved to work with his hands. He spent much of his time working outside in the yard, vegetable garden and tending his honey bees. He could build and repair literally anything. One of the things he enjoyed, much to the nervousness of his wife, was having children on the roof.
Gay was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
