Genevieve M. Idar, born July 12, 1922 in San Antonio, died October 14, 2002 in Dallas. Mrs. Idar worked for over 34 years as a Federal Employee with the Department of Defense as a Transportation Officer attached to the United States Air Force at Kelly Air Force Base and at The Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She had a distinguished career in government service and retired with an Exemplary Performance Award in May of 1984. She was a wonderful loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Her husband, Clarence Idar, and her daughter Diana M. Idar, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Richard C. Idar and wife Imelda of Lorton, VA, John C. Idar of Dallas, Kathy Cavanaugh and husband Ronald of Egg Harbor, NJ, and Jackie Idar of Dallas; grandchildren, Richard J. Idar of North Carolina, Jonathon A. Idar of Dallas, Jeffrey B. Sassinsky of New Jersey, Brian Idar of Dallas, TX; great grandson, Richard M. Idar of North Carolina; siblings, Richard A. Pena of San Diego, CA, John B. Pena, Raymond Pena both of San Antonio, and Maria Baldesseri of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and an extensive loving extended family.
