
Born to Edward Karam, Sr., and Josephine Daywood Karam, she spent her entire life in San Antonio, Texas.
A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong member of St. George Maronite Church and a past president of the Bey Aleph Club.
Having earned her bachelor and master degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University, she devoted her professional life to education, working for the San Antonio Independent School District as a math teacher, a counselor, a vice-principal and, for the past three years as principal of Woodrow Wilson Elementary School.
Wilson has been recognized as an exemplary campus for each year of her tenure and was awarded a five-star rating by Texas Monthly Magazine.
Genevieve inspired and charmed all who knew her.
She possessed an elegant demeanor, a courageous spirit, and a generous heart.
At the moment of her passing she was surrounded by her life's greatest joy, her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Phillip Edward Niemeyer, Sr.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Phillip Edward Niemeyer, Jr. of Austin, TX, and Michael Carl Niemeyer of San Antonio, TX; brother, Edward Karam, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Dr. Patricia Karam and husband, Robert Karam of San Antonio, TX, Edwina Saba and husband, John Saba, Sr. of Dallas, TX, and Mary Elaine Lanie Karam of San Antonio, TX; numerous other relatives; and many loving friends.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful care provided for Gene by Dr. Steven Kalter and the nursing staff at CTRC and the Methodist Hospital.
Fr. John Nahal, MLM and Fr. Fadi Helwanji, MLM will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Daywood, Carl Daywood, Tom Joseph, Matthew Niemeyer and John Saba, Jr.
