She is preceded in death by her parents, Atilano and Isidra Rabago; beloved husband, Simon Velez, Sr; son, Luis Angel Velez and siblings, Roberto Rabago Najera, Atilano Rabago Najera, Jesus Rabago Najera, Francisca Rabago Najera, Dolores Rabago Najera, and Cecilia Rabago Najera.

She is survived by her children, Margarita Avalos (Jose), Leticia Velez (John Ramirez), Simon Velez Jr and Genoveva Velez; grandchildren, Dener Echeverria, Jesus Ochoa, Eva Nereida Echeverria, Esperanza Ochoa, Lucia Avalos, Angelica Jaqueline Echeverria, Jose Avalos, Celeste Echeverria, Esmeralda Ochoa, Rene Avalos; great grandchildren, Zoe Echeverria, Patrick Rice, Alexander Hernandez, Iris Cortez, Madelyn Hernandez, Akame Casarrubios and Grayson Flores and siblings, Rosa Velia Martinez, Guadalupe Aguilar and Beatriz Vitela.

A visitation for Genoveva will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Trevino Funeral Home with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
