

George William "Bill" Hays, 71, left this Earth for his eternal home on Friday, January 13, 2017. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to George and Vera Hays. Bill was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Seneca High School and University of Louisville on a tennis scholarship. He graduated with a Psychology Degree from the University of Kentucky and received his MBA degree from Pace University. At the University of Kentucky, Bill met the love of his life, Linda Smith. They married in 1967 and raised a son, Kevin and daughter, Lisa. Bill had a very successful and rewarding career with AT&T. He retired after 32 years as the Assistant Vice President of Customer Analytics and Research. During his career, Bill had the opportunity for over 10 years to pursue international market expansion opportunities with extensive world travel. He had over 32 years' telecommunication experience in primary quantitative and qualitative research for domestic and international markets, markets analysis, strategic planning and market management. Playing tennis or golf with friends, scuba diving, volunteering for the Assistance League of San Antonio or traveling with Linda were the activities he enjoyed. Yet, the most endearing activities and closest to his heart was spending time with his son Kevin, daughter Lisa and his four grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, George and Vera Hays and sister, Judith. Survivors include wife, Linda Hays; son, Kevin (Angie) Hays; daughter, Lisa (Jay) Homburger and four grandchildren, Lucy and Annabelle Hays and Hayden and Hudson Homburger.
A memorial rosary will be held at 6:00 at p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East.
The memorial funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 20523 Huebner Rd.
