

Bruce dedicated his life to the service of this country, beginning in the Navy during the Korean War, a short stint in the Air Force, and then as an Army pilot in the Vietnam War, and throughout the rest of his military career from which he retired in 1988.
He is preceded in death by his son Michael Mundis, stepson Barry Sloan, and granddaughters Lindsey Coleman and Tasha Vargas.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita Mundis; children Michelle (Gary) Schroeder, Susan (Rodney) Boulio, Robert (Kristen Dougherty) Mundis Sr., stepson Thom (Brie) Vargas, daughter-in-law Dolores Sloan; grandchildren Jennifer Schroeder, Ryan (Pari) Schroeder, Hannah Schroeder, Karen Boulio, Racheal Boulio, Michael Mundis, Brittany (Brian) Weedon, Caylee Mundis, Robert Mundis Jr., Shane Mundis, Trisha Mundis, James Mundis, Megan (Joseph) Nevil, Hannah Vargas, Liliana Vargas, Bryce Carraretto, and Adian Carraretto; great-grandchildren Donovan Schroeder, Ariana Schroeder, Victoria Johnson, Nolan Weedon, Averie Weedon, and Roman Mundis.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX 78209.
