

Larry was born on December 22, 1947, to George H. Ridder and Magdelene B. Ridder in San Antonio, Texas. He spent his childhood on a ranch near LaCoste, Texas. He attended St. Paul’s Catholic School, Thomas Jefferson High School and St. Mary’s University. He graduated from St. Mary’s with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was a member and officer in the Theta Sigma Phi Fraternity. His career was in computer programming and insurance sales. Larry served his country by being a member of the Army National Guard.
Larry was a proud member of The St. Dominic’s Catholic Church Knights of Columbus Chapter and the St. Luke’s Catholic Church Men’s Club. Larry was proud to have achieved the Fourth Degree within the Knights of Columbus, which focuses on fostering patriotism, leadership and service to church and country.
Larry is survived by his siblings, William Ridder (Shelley), Mary Ridder Jennings (Michael), and Deborah Ridder; step-mother, Rachel Edwards Ridder; step-brothers and step-sisters, Roger Edwards (Pat), Rocky Edwards, Blinda Edwards, and Cindy Edwards; son, Michael E. Ridder; grandchildren, Caden M. Ridder and Kaylee Nicole Ridder; first wife, Linda Albert Ridder; stepchildren, Christine Bird, Jonathan Bird and David Bird; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
George Larry Ridder is preceded in death by his parents, George H. Ridder and Magdelene B. Ridder, his second wife, Pamela Erwin Ridder and several other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church on Friday, January 16, 2026, located at 5919 Ingram Road, San Antonio, Texas. The Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. with the Mass following at 10:30 a.m.
