George Allen Watson

George Allen Watson was called to Heaven on December 27, 2020. Born October 30, 1933 in Sylvania, OH to George and Alice Watson. Relocated to San Antonio where he grew up and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952. He was drafted by the Army in 1953 and served during the Korean War. He obtained his Architect’s license in 1968, pursuing his interest in construction, later started his own business with his wife Linda completing numerous commercial metal building projects. He finished his career in 2007, retiring from SAISD.

George and Linda celebrated 50 loving years of marriage on September 20, 2020, together enjoying traveling, bowling, spending time laughing with family and friends. George enjoyed being outdoors and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by parents George and Alice; 7 sisters Alice, Lillian, Leona, Jean, Dorothy, Carol, Connie; 2 children Debbie and Kenneth. Survived by wife, Linda, children George Jr (Elizabeth), Randy, Wendy Nolan (Steve), Wesley, stepdaughters Jill Snow (Chris), Julianne; grandchildren Greg, Ashley, Scott, Lisa, Candace, Devin, Valerie, Angela; sister Joyce; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family

Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home -1701 Austin Hwy with committal services to follow.
