Georgia May Bartosch, born February 22, 1930 to Henry B. & Pauline Rochen. She entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2019 at her assisted living residence in Jourdanton, TX. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Georgia received her Bachelor’s Degree from South West Texas State University in San Marcos. She returned home after graduation to help care for her ailing mother where she met and married William “Bill” Bartosch. They moved to San Antonio and she began teaching at Harlandale High School. Georgia had to take a taxi to and from work because she had not yet learn to drive. They then adopted two babies from the Home of the Holy Infancy in Austin, TX Andrew William and Sandra Pauline. She took a few years off to be a homemaker and mother. Georgia returned to teaching in the SAISD at Highland Park Elementary.
After 30 years she retired to dedicate her time to the things she enjoyed most: her 3 cherished granddaughters: Lacey, Cheyenne & Torey, traveling, seeing lighthouses, gambling, sewing, making crafts and baking. As time and age took her sight, hearing and mobility. Georgia enjoyed and became a loyal fan of the San Antonio Spurs. She will be remembered for her quick wit, generous nature and her extensive lighthouse collection.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Bartosch; her parents and her only sibling, Richard Rochen.
Mrs. Bartosch is survived by her son, Andrew Bartosch; her daughter, Sandey Trouart & husband John “Tooter” Trouart; and granddaughters, Lacey Cox Neet, Cheyenne Crain & husband Ryan Crain and Torey Trouart; great-grandchildren, Cullin Neet and Madison “Moonpie” Neet.
The Visitation will be 6 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will continued at Sunset Memorial Park followed by catered reception at the Sunset Reception Hall.
