Gerald Francis Keyes MSgt. (Ret.) USAF

Gerald Francis Keyes of Redondo Beach, California passed away on Saturday June 27, 2015 after battling a long illness. He served in both the Navy and Air Force, from which he retired in 1969 as a OSI Special Agent. During his military service he was the recipient of numerous awards. He then proceeded to retire several times after that, in the security business. He volunteered at Little Company of Mary hospital in Torrance California and various nursing homes, delivering comfort and prayer as a minister. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife traveled extensively throughout the years visiting family and seeing Alaska, Panama, Mexico and throughout the United States.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandra C Metcalf, and three children, Katherine Bellingham, LTC Brian Keyes (US Army) wife, Jackie and daughter, Kimberly Keyes. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren of whom two are following in his footsteps by serving our country. LCPL Cameron Bellingham (USMC), Allison Bellingham, Logan Bellingham, Kellie Keyes, Paul Keyes (future Army), Karissa Keyes, Kyle Keyes.

Visitation will be Monday July 6 from 5-9 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 7 at 12pm with burial at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery to follow.
