

Geraldo Garcia, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on May 29, 1935, to his parents, Rogerio Garcia and Maria Zamora. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and after receiving an honorable discharge, attended St. Mary’s University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Geraldo worked as a chemist for the FDA and Kaiser Aluminum before joining Shell Oil. He rose from a Chemical Engineer to become an Operations Manager during his twenty-three-year career at Shell working at locations in New Orleans, LA, Gallup, NM, Houston, TX, and Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Geraldo enjoyed fishing and painting; he was a talented woodworker who loved making dollhouses, trains, and hobby horses for his grandchildren. He and his wife Rebecca took pleasure in cruising and traveling around the world to places such as Hong Kong, Germany, Thailand, Austria, and Alaska. Geraldo was a Knight of Columbus with Council #7983 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rogerio and Maria Garcia; his brothers, Roy, Oscar, Wilfred, and George. Geraldo is survived by his wife Rebecca Mazuca Garcia; his children, Gerald W. Garcia (Molly), Leonard Garcia (Mary Ellen), and Cindy Lundberg (Bruce); and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
