She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Arthur Clayton Meier; three children: Gretchen Meier Oostenink and her husband, William of Hamilton, NY, Arthur Charles Meier II and his wife, Amy of Huntsville, AL, Frank L. and wife, Kathy of Albuquerque, NM.; six grandchildren: Christopher Oostenink of CT, Katrine Balch, Juliana Wright, and Alyssa Meier of Huntsville, AL and Scott and Stephen Meier of Albuquerque, NM and Las Vegas, NV.; and six great grandchildren.
Gertrude was a dedicated and loving Army wife for thirty years, a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for 49 years, was Past Matron of Mission 527 OES in Mission, Texas and also a member of Wimodausis Chapter 141 OES of San Antonio, a member of de Bexar Chapter, NSDAR and a Charter member of the Sam Maverick Chapter, NSDAR.
