Gilbert Guarnero

God has called his newest angel, Gilbert Guarnero, on March 4, 2025 at the age of 53 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on February 27, 1972, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Gilbert was the son of Rodolfo Pardo Guarnero and Palmira Ester Sotomayor.

Gilbert was a devoted family man and a passionate individual who lived life to the fullest. He was an active member of the Cupples Sports Bar Pool League and the Brothers in Blue Law Enforcement, where he formed lasting bonds with those who shared his commitment to service. Gilbert also proudly supported the Lanier Voks Football team, embracing their “Never Say Die” attitude in both life and sport. A lover of sports, he enjoyed fishing, BBQing, playing, watching, and coaching football and softball. His zest for life extended to enjoying movies and spending quality time with his loved ones.

A caring father, Gilbert is survived by his children: Fidela Guarnero, Gabriel Rey Guarnero aka Fidel Sosa (Tyler Tamara Sosa), Elena Rae Guarnero (Mark Salas), and Ethan Ray Guarnero (Sony Gonzales), as well as his grandchildren: Esmeralda Arroyo, Celeste Arroyo, Vanessa Davila, Kensie Rose Clark, Pamela Guadalupe Sosa, and Lyla Salas. He will be forever cherished by his parents, Rodolfo Guarnero and Palmira “Pam” Sotomayor, and his siblings: Palmira Koenigsberg, Rodolfo “Rudy” Guarnero (Crystal Perez), and Daia Guarnero-Sanchez (Frank Sanchez).

Gilbert was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maria Elena Sotomayor, and his paternal grandparents: Gilbert Guarnero and Jesucita Pardo, along with his aunt; Daia Cruz-Avenell.

Gilbert’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His love for his family, commitment to his community, and passion for life will never be forgotten.

Visitation

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. Chapel Service and Burial

A Chapel Service will occur on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to meet directly after at San Geronimo Cemetery, 1620 E Walnut St, Seguin, TX 78155, for the Burial.
