Loving brother,  Gilbert and where never perfect,  we where upset at each other, didn't talk to each other for months,  But we where able to reconnect  with each other after my mom pass away, Gilbert needed to go the eye doctor,  called him up took him,  That morning  we ate breakfast  talked about his retirement and fishing, Told him about opening  a concrete  business  together , And with Sammy getting  the contracts,  the smartest   one. Lol, Sammy had more Knowledge, Now that dream  is gone, Now Gilbert is in Heaven with my oldest brother Larry Leyva.  When we had family  gathering,  Larry would always  play music  Gilbert singing  along,  then you would hear Gilbert tell Larry, Say let the song finish stop changing  it Gilbert getting  all mad.  And my Dad and mom telling Larry turn it down. Lol We have lots of good memories  which out weights  the bad one. It's always about family  and helping friends when  we can. Gilbert wait for me up there when it's my time I will take two fishing poles and we will go fishing

My sincere condolences to the family. He was a neighbor in Port Townsend Dr.  They lived right across from us . They knew all the neighbors in the area. A little memory to share he would feel like sitting outside in his garage and would play his music and he would sing and we could hear him all the way across the street. My husband and I we would say there goes Gilbert again. He is a good person, respected and liked by the neighbors .Just a wonderful person I was able to meet throughout my life.

In loving memory of Gilbert, who passed away unexpectedly last week, for those of us who knew him in  the earlier chapter of his life, he will be remembered with warm laughter we share many meaningful years together, and I carry those memories with both sorrow and affection. My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace

No words can ever express the pain that a person goes through when losing a loved one, and believe me, you were loved. You are truly going to be missed.I remember all the get-togethers at your Mom and Dad's house, you and Larry always playfully disputing over what music was the best; Larry always chose Conjunto music and you, always the Tejano music. I missed out on a lot with the family later on in years, but all of you were always on my mind and close to my heart. I love you all. There is no construction work in Heaven so your Mom was right; you need to quit doing all that hard work. All your burdens have been lifted, brother-in-law. May you rest in peace. God bless you and your family.
