He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa G. Hernandez, daughter, Martha Esquivel, and granddaughter, Anna Marie Hernandez.
Gilberto is survived by his children, Gilberto Hernandez Jr. (Yvonne). Grace Gallegos, Andrew Hernandez (Yolanda), numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Gilberto will be Tuesday November 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a chapel service to begin at 12:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. San Antonio TX 78211 with interment to follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery, 10554-10620 Stuart Rd., San Antonio, TX 78263
