Gloria G. Apaez

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo & Lorenza Gonzales; loving husband of 54 years, Jesse Z. Apaez; and daughter, Lillian(Roberto) Rios.

She is survived by her children, Aileen (Rudy) Lopez, Iris Apaez; grandchildren, Joshua Guzman, Michael Lopez, Lauren (Evan) Flatequal, Jarod Mercado and Alix Rios; great granddaughter, Isabella Flatequal.

She served as a librarian at Somerset Middle School, from March 10, 1980 - May 27, 2005, where she touched the lives of countless students. Alongside her husband, Jesse Apaez, she also dedicated time to driving a school bus. After 25 years of devoted service, she retired from Somerset ISD. She was a faithful practicing Catholic, and was an active parishioner for many years at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Somerset, Texas. In her later years, she found joy in the fellowship and sense of community at the Somerset Senior Citizens’ Center.

A heartfelt thank you to Natalia Rangel, who cared for our mother for over two years. Your compassion, dedication, and unwavering support meant more to us than words can express. We truly could not have done this without you. Please know how deeply we appreciate and love you.

ChristyAnn, your compassion and leadership are truly remarkable, and your team’s care is exceptional. Thank you all for caring for our mother with such compassion, kindness, and tender loving care.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always in our hearts.

A visitation will begin Tuesday, April 14, from 5 pm - 9 pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7 pm at Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX. A funeral procession will depart from Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 19711 N. Dixon in Somerset, TX. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Somerset, TX.
