

Gregory G. Alberts, of Devine, died February 15, 2023, at his home. He died unexpectedly, but peacefully. Gregory was born the oldest of five children to Ruth Elizabeth (Wolfe) and Glenn George Alberts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 30, 1946.
Gregory enlisted in the United States Army in 1966, where he served an honorable career during the war in Vietnam. He had the honor of becoming one of the first 6 to stand up the US Army Military Police One Station Unit Training. Sargent First Class Alberts was retired in 1986 after 20 years of honorable service. He continued his selfless service by working a successful career in Civil Service at the Veterans Administration in Chicago where he retired in 2011.
Gregory loved all things military and motorcycles and was proud to be a member of the American Legion Post 300 in San Antonio, TX. He was a founding member of the 5th Chapter MC of El Paso, TX and the Serenity Riders of Antioch, IL.
Gregory is survived by his children, Scott (Amanda) Alberts and Patrick (Samantha) Alberts; grandchildren; Michael, Joseph, Elizabeth, Madisyn, and Olivya Alberts; siblings, Coletta Weimar, Gary (Julie) Alberts, Amy (Tom) Bodden, Ann (John) Hicks; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Ruth Alberts (Wolfe) and his brother-in-law David Weimar.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Porter Loring Mortuary West in San Antonio, TX at 11:00 am on March 4th, 2023. To view a live stream of the service, please click here.
