Guadalupe Fuentes Cuellar Sr.

Mr. Guadalupe Fuentes Cuellar Sr., born on December 12, 1929 in Whitsett, TX was called to be with the Lord on October 1, 2014 at the age of 84. Guadalupe attended Whitsett Elementary School, up to 6th Grade and received his GED on May 25th, 1972. At 8 years old, he sold burlap sack, baskets, and produce bags for 5 cents and at age 11 shined shoes for 10 cents a pair on Commerce and Navarro streets. His first official job was working for San Antonio Water System for 3 years and worked for Bexar Metropolitan Waters District for almost 40 years and retired as a foreman. His last job was selling Car dash covers at Flea Mart. Guadalupe attended St. Leonard’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the US Army National Guard and was also a Scout Master for Troop 218 in the 60’s. He happily survived to see 6 sets of 5 generations of offspring. He is preceded in death by parents, Sofio and Estela Cuellar; brother, Alfredo F. Cuellar; sisters, Janie Arguijo and Carolina Zepeda; granddaughter, Courtney Jessica Cuellar. He is survived his sister Guadalupe (Mico) Zepeda, by the mother of his children Ms. Teresa Cuellar; children Linda C. Becsey, Lupe Cuellar Jr. (Esther), Margie C. Rodriguez (Rodolfo), Jesse Cuellar (Cyndi), Janie C. Flores, Florentina C. Duron (Gene) and Julian Cuellar; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and 3 on the way; also, numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday October 7, 2014 with a Rosary at 7p.m. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at 9:30a.m. for a 10a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in First Memorial Park.
