

Guadalupe Escobedo, a beloved son, brother, and friend, entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on January 15, 2025 at the age of 72. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 13, 1952 to mother, Guadalupe Escobedo.
In his younger years, Guadalupe was a football star, showcasing talent and dedication on the field at Lanier High School. His athleticism and determination were qualities that stayed with him throughout his life. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly served in Germany, fulfilling his duty with honor.
A true sports fan, Guadalupe had an unwavering love for the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys, always cheering on his teams with passion. He also found joy in simple pastimes, especially playing dominos, where his friendly and competitive spirit shined. His warmth extended beyond his family, as he was a kind neighbor, always ready with a smile and a conversation for those around him.
He will be reunited in heaven with his wife, Blanca Escobedo; son, Guadalupe Escobedo Jr; mother, Guadalupe Escobedo; and brother, Gregorio Zepeda.
Guadalupe’s memory will forever live in his son, Ramses Escobedo; siblings, David, Jacob, Diana, Liz, and Estela; step-daughter, Gabriela Calica. His presence will be deeply missed by all his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Guadalupe’s kindness, loyalty, and love for life will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
A visitation for Guadalupe will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home. A holy rosary will occur Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM. A mass of the resurrection will occur Monday, February 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
