Guadalupe J. Rivera

Guadalupe J. Rivera age 75 of San Antonio, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was born on December 12, 1938 to the late Jose and Margarita De La Rosa Rivera. Guadalupe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather.

Guadalupe and Olga loved to travel to Pennsylvania, Houston and San Juan, Mexico to visit family. He had a passion for dancing and enjoyed fishing. Guadalupe was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He took pleasure watching his grandchildren grow and play sports. He will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help people.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Edward Rivera, Sr.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of 55 years, Olga Lopez Rivera; his children, Mary Grace Garcia (Johnny); Michael Rivera (Adelaide); Sylvia Vasquez (Raul); Rudy Rivera (Karen); 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 3 step sisters and numerous other relatives and friends. The Rivera family would like to thank Alamo Hospice for their loving care and support.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Ave.
