May 15, 1976 ~ May 15, 2021
It is with great sorrow and overwhelming grief we announce that our beloved son, brother, father, family member and friend, Guillermo P. “Billy” Sanchez II. Born May 15, 1976 in San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest on May 15, 2021, at the age 45 years old. His death was completely unexpected and shocked everyone that knew him & loved him. We stand here today with broken hearts. The loss of our son is something we could never have prepared for. Our lives will never be the same without him.
Guillermo was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Family and friends knew Guillermo to be a kind & caring person who lived and loved life to its fullest. He was a loving son to his parents and his children. At age 11, he competed and qualified for the Junior Olympics Soccer team in Florida. As a freshman at Clark high school he played soccer on the varsity team. Guillermo was a free-spirited person and wasn’t afraid to help strangers or friends in need at any given moment. He was a loving pet owner & always enjoyed bringing home stray animals and giving them a home. He loved the San Antonio Spurs and the Texas Longhorns. He loved watching scary movies, eating philly cheese steaks & drinking his dos equis beer. Guillermo had a charismatic demeanor, he loved to joke around with friends and relatives and listen to conjunto music. He was also a great dancer. Guillermo was excellent at anything he did, whether it be soccer or any other competitive sport. He also loved running a pool table and manicuring lawns to perfection with his dad. Guillermo had such a vibrant personality and giving heart. He will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts.
Guillermo was the first-born son and is survived by his parents Yolanda Gonzaba and Bill Sanchez and his younger brother, Gabriel Sanchez. Guillermo leaves behind his children: Emerald Blu Sanchez, Cielo Jiovanna Salinas-Sanchez, Katrina and Alex along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved wife, Angela Salinas-Sanchez. Guillermo is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Mary Lou and Michael Gonzaba Jr. (Sarge) and Adela and Tom Sanchez and his uncles, Jerry and Michael Gonzaba III. (and can’t forget his 4-legged furry pets Greysi, Wedo and Delgado).
In loving memory of our precious son… “there is a sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of weakness, but of power.
They speak more eloquently than ten-thousand tongues.
They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition,
And of unspeakable love”
(by Washington Irving)
