

On May 14, 2016 Hallie Ann Gaffney passed away peacefully. Ann's loving heart was reflected by her radiant smile that brought joy to all those around her. Her strength and love of life sustained her until the very end.
She was born in Waco, Texas on April 16, 1937 and was raised in Moody, Texas. She graduated from Moody High School and attended Baylor University in Waco where she graduated with a B.A. in Sociology. At Baylor she met her husband, Jack Gaffney and the two were married in 1957.
Ann and Jack moved to San Antonio in 1961 and started Climate Control Air Conditioning Company. Her creative spirit and talent was evident when she started her needlepoint business, Designs by Angie, in 1970. In 1978 she opened her store, That's My Bag at The Boardwalk and later The Bag Shoppe at Richmond Oaks, both in San Antonio.
She served tirelessly as an active room mother, Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Cookie Chairman and master fudge maker who never missed a carpool or a school play. Additionally, she volunteered her time with the San Antonio Conservation Society working on Fiesta. She joined Shearer Hills Baptist Church in 2014.
She had a special love for her family, each member having a unique place in her heart. Family celebrations were the highlights of her life, especially Christmas and Easter. Her ultimate gift was passing on the importance of family.
Ann is reunited in heaven with her husband, Jack O. Gaffney, her beloved parents, Frank and Eloise Denny. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her son, J. Michael Gaffney and his wife Nancy of San Antonio, her daughter, Susan Gaffney Thornton and her husband Bobby of San Antonio, her grandchildren, Michelle Miles and her husband Dan of Fort Worth, Will Denny Gaffney and his wife Kristen, of Fort Worth, Burr Thornton of Lorena and Jack Tanner Thornton of San Antonio and one great granddaughter, Charlotte Anne Miles of Fort Worth.
