Hanna is a well recognized, highly innovative researcher that has touched a countless number of Veteran lives. He will be missed immensely.

I will always remember Hanna's great genorosity and loving smile. We will never forget him.

Dear Hanna, You were an amazing neighbor. We miss you each day and our three young daughters look for you often. I can still hear you telling me to "use my hose anytime to water to grass!" on our shared grass area between the houses. I wish I had taken you up on your offer to drive your Corvette, it looked like so much fun. We smile every time we think of seeing you fog the shrubs for mosquitos after the first time we thought your house was on fire. I know you will miss the green belt trail so we will take walks for you. You are a good man Hanna. You are an amazing person and we will share your memory and keep it alive with our family. Hanna, I will miss your warmth and kindness to me personally, always encouraging, always inquiring if all is well. I will miss that smile on your face as you walk down the corridor by my office on the way to and from the VA Hospital, always willing to stop for a chat with a junior colleague. I just heard about the passing of Dr. Abboud. I am shocked and sad. During my work at UH in the Nephrology Department he was very supportive and appreciative of my contribution. My sympathy to his family, colleges and friends. He will be greatly missed.

What a great loss, tragic, premature and unexpected, but we take solace in the fact that our beloved Hanna has lived a full life, touched so many with his healing powers and abundant love, brought to this world a wonderful family, children and grandchildren , he will continue to live through in our memories and our heart.

No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. But we take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our lord.

A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. 
As a nephrology fellow 14 years ago I spend almost 3.5 years as clinical / research fellow that I became familiar with Dr Abboud strong personality.
His passion to teach was matched only by his compassion for his fellows .
I might not always remember the phosphoralation.? In diabetic nephropathy but i remember the way a good teacher inspired us and influenced us. 
Dr Hanna Abboud will not be forgotten.

I will miss Hanna, a wonderful friend and excellent teacher who impacted so many of us. Will always have great memories of him.

I had the opportunity of working with Dr. Abboud in some difficult issues. He became a friend and a colleague with always a big smile greeting me. I am shocked and saddened that he passed away.

I met Dr. Abboud through my work with the Health Science Center. It was clear he was a talented and compassionate individual. On a walk in my neighborhood, I discovered he lived in the neighborhood. He was walking his dogs, and we crossed paths multiple times. He will be missed.

I experienced Dr. Abboud's kindness and thoughtfulness many times. He will be missed.
