

Hannibal Anthony Davis, III, commonly known as Anthony by his immediate family, departed this earthly life on Monday, December 5, 2022. He was 34 years old. Anthony was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 20, 1987. He was the youngest child and the beloved son of Hannibal Davis, Jr., Minnie, and Jimmy Jones.
Anthony was a beautiful spirit, always jovial. He had a profound sense of humor. He never met a stranger; he was a person you could easily talk with and was always willing to lend an ear. He was a caring soul and someone who lent an ear or was there if you needed a friend.
He attended Sahuaro High School in Tucson, AZ, then after relocating to San Antonio, TX, he attended Madison High School. After graduating high school, he studied at St. Phillip’s College, San Antonio, TX, and Concordia University, Austin, TX.He enlisted in the Air Force and completed three tours in Southwest Asia theater while assigned to Davis-Monthan and Patrick Air Force Bases. After that, he separated from Active Duty and entered the Air Force Reserve as an IMA. He separated from HQ RIO Det. 4, Scott AFB, in November 2022.
Anthony leaves behind his son, Hannibal Anthony Davis, IV, “also known as Q”; his wife and coparent, Fiona Davis, and two children: Asja Cleveland and Jaizavious Sanchez; his brothers, Richard (Danielle) Davis, Aaron Brown, and Anthony (Christina) Allsup; sisters, Nicole (Miguel) Leyva, Chandra (Darryl) Davis-Mark, Raqel Brown, Kristina (Marcel) Fearon, and Liz (Josh) Lebold; uncles, Lawrence Davis and Michael (Ebony) Jones; aunts, Susan Davis, Cynthia (Garner) Marsh, and Teresa (Fred) Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also loved by his close friends, Paula Clendaniel and Minnae Chabwera. Anthony will also be missed by Chewie, his beloved Belgian Sheppard, who was always by his side.
He was preceded in death by his youngest sister, Angela Davis; grandmothers, Dorothy Jones and Henrietta Davis; his father, Hannibal Sr; his aunt, Rebecca Davis; his uncles, William and Michael Davis and Robert and Gray Jones.
Hannibal’s visitation will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232, on Wednesday, January 4, 2022, from 6–8 p.m.
His funeral service will be held at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1819 Nevada St, San Antonio, Texas 78203, on Thursday, January 5, 2022, at 10 a.m. The interment will be held immediately following the Mass at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
