Met him in 1958, as my coach. Attended some of his SS classes @ Uvalde Bapt., and also had him again @ GPHS. I can't think of another educator who set any greater example for citizenship, Christianity,etc.,than Coach Baldridge.

Aunt Bobbie & Family: It was wonderful seeing you all at the memorial service. It was such a lovely tribute to Uncle Harlan and you could just feel the love throughout the room. Even though we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like, just know that memories are cherished treasures that God gives us for times such as these. Uncle Harlan, we love you. My career as a athlete would have been nothing without his influence. He was always my guardian angel. If I needed to talk to him when we were at GP or at Rice, I could always count on him. We send our sympathies and condolences to the Baldridge family concerning their loss. Coach Baldridge was a positive inspiration and provided direction to many us during our High School years. He consistently taught us, as young men, to always choose the "harder right instead of the easier wrong" and also to "never give up!" We all will miss him.

I am honored to offer comments in the guest book of Harlan Baldridge. Many of us encounter coaches at very young ages long before high school. Very few of us ever had the talent to ever play sports in college. Meanwhile those same good men we served under are often promoted to Athletic Directors or Principals. But to us those same good men will always be "COACH". I will always cherish my memories of Coach Baldrige. .

Great Man Great Coach He taught us all a lot. He will be missed by all.

Coach Baldridge had a very powerful influence on my life very early. He is one of the reasons I got into coaching. His demeanor and great smile brought me great joy. We had some great pick up basketball games at GP. I can still see that ol' jump shot! RIP COACH.
