
LTC Harry L. Cook, USA Ret., age 90, of San Antonio, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001. He is a graduate of Perdue University in 1934 and served over 20 years in the U.S. Army. Col. Cook was a member of the University Masonic Lodge in Columbus, Ohio and the Scottish Rite and Alzafar Shrine. He was a long time resident of Westerville, Ohio, where he was a founding member of Central College Presbyterian Church. Col. Cook also retired as an agronomist from Landmark, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio. He was a Blendon Township Trustee in the Westerville area. Col. Cook was a long time amateur radio operator and his call sign is WB8ORE. He was also a member of USAF Mars Program. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bessie Cook. Survivors: son, Lee Cook and wife, Gayle; grandsons, Christopher and Brian Cook, all of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Ethyl Cooper, LaFayette, Indiana; niece, Shirley Sonnenberg, Collinsville, IL. A Graveside Service was held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, on June 21st, with Full Military Honors, with the Rev. Jim Hime officiating.
