Hayward was born on January 8, 1949 in St. Louis, MO and his family moved to Texas while he was in his teens. He was a member of Spring Creek United Methodist Church. His most recent residence was in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX. He was a member of Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club where he spent many happy and sometimes frustrating hours on the golf course.
Hayward spent almost all his 40 year career in the electrical industry; the last 15 years were spent with Cooper Industries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayward Lee Halford, Sr. and Frances Bernice Halford. Hayward is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheri Halford; daughters, Kelli Gill and husband Todd, Hayley Halford and Jodi, Rachel Halford and Jameson; sister, Susan Guinn; sisters-in-law, Cindy Moses, Rosemary Rhodes and husband Bert; brother-in-law, Bruce Stuckey and wife Judy; niece, Sara Guinn; nephew, Trey Tatum and family; and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Iris Lynn Cumby; as well as many dear friends and co-workers.
