

Helen served as a worship leader, a member of the choir and coordinator for the Christmas food-basket ministry. She was also an assistant teacher at the church school for many years and joyfully lead the school chapel services.
Helen will always be remembered for her strong faith, constant prayers, love of her family and friends, beautiful voice and her sense of style. A true soldier of the cross has arrived in heaven and will be greatly missed.
Helen is survived by her son, Bert Thompson and wife, Elaine Thompson and daughter, RaDonna Monkhouse. Granddaughter, Mandie Peel and husband, Dr. Garrett Peel, granddaughter, DiAnn Dunn and wife, Jennifer Dunn, granddaughter, Candace Self and husband Kyle Self. Great grandchildren; Travis Farias, Ty Monkhouse, Blythe Peel, Emsley Peel, Blakellyn Peel, Presley Dunn and Emrys Peel. Sister, Evelyn Thompson, and children, Charlene Hogan, Patsy Gallagher, Jennifer Dunnahoo and James Thompson. Sister Virginia Evans and children, Steve Evans and Doug Evans. Sister, Bertie Dannheim and husband, Larry Dannheim and children, Sabrina Dannheim, Greg Dannheim and Mike Dannheim.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Travis Thompson, her first-born son, Rodney Darrell Thompson, son-in-law, Wood Monkhouse, brother, Sonny Durst, and sister, Ruth Braiser.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Senor Living and Brookdale Hospice for their kind and loving care of Helen.
