
Mrs. Helen Bradford Morris Williamson, resident of San Antonio, Texas and Easton, Maryland, died early Friday, January 25, 2002 after a brief illness. She was born December 19, 1921 in Palestine, Texas, the daughter of Judge Ned Bradford Morris, Jr. and Willie Belle Neel Morris. Mrs. Williamson was born into a prominent family and was descended from the Order of the First Families of Virginia and Americans of Royal Descent. She was educated at Mary Baldwin College and received her B.A. at the University of Texas, Austin. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Military Civilian Club, she held membership in the Zeta Tau Alpha, San Antonio Country Club, the Argyle, Club Giraud, Study Club, Agarita Garden Club, Tred Avon Yacht Club and Rolling Rock Club. She was eligible to the FFV's by virtue of her descent from Captain Samuel Maycock and Richard Pace of Pace's Paines Plantation, James River, Virginia. She was very proud of her grandmother, Minnie Gould Morris, being Poet Laureate Emeritus of the Texas Women's Press Association. Mrs. Williamson was an avid animal lover and leaves three beloved dogs: "Ellie", "Bonnie" and "Suzi". In her later days, Mrs. Williamson was comforted by the care of Marian Dilworth and Betty Rice.
She is survived by her devoted husband, F. Phillips Williamson; two daughters and a son. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Williamson is survived by three children, their spouses and seven grandchildren: daughter, Leonora Belle Stumberg Berg and son-in-law, Donald Berg Dallas; daughter, Helen Louise Stumberg Womack and son-in-law, Jesse Yell Womack, II San Antonio; son, Jeffrey P. Williamson and daughter-in-law, Susan P. Williamson Cambridge, MD; grandchildren, Helen Louise Womack Mayfield, Jesse Yell Womack, III, William Henry Crain Womack, Virginia Nell Womack, Mary Elizabeth Williamson, Donald Edward Berg, and Bradford Belle Berg Moncrief.
