He was born in Laredo, TX to parents, Daniel and Anita Guajardo Galindo on February 28, 1925, when at the age of 12, his family relocated to San Antonio. Henry attended Harris Middle School and Burbank HS.
His high school days were interrupted by WWII and he proudly served his country for three years from 1943-46.
Upon his return home, he began what ended up being a 37 year Civil Service career. He started out at Ft. Sam Houston General Army Depot and eventually ended up at Kelly AFB for the remainder of his career.
During his time at Fort Sam, he met the love of his life, Maria Amparo Munoz who also worked at the Depot. In 1949 they began dating and were joyfully married in December 1954.
In 1962, their family began with the birth of Matthew, followed by Marcus, Marielle and Norma.
He was a great father who taught by example by being active in his parish at St. Stephen's through various positions including Parish Council, Men's Club and many others.
Whenever he could, he brought his children along to instill in them a strong sense of service. He also coached their teams and was active in their school organizations. If something needed barbequing, Henry was there to take care of it.
Even after his illness, he continued to be present at his children's and grandchildren's events.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dan, Guadalupe, and Hector Galindo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Maria Amparo Galindo; sister, Antonio Salazar; children: Matthew (Juanita) of Grand Prairie;
Marcus (Sara), Marielle Kinkead (Bill) of Kyle and Norma Hogan (Jack) of Helotes; nine grandsons: Daniel & John of Grand Prairie, Nicolas, Jacob, & Christopher of San Antonio, Joshua & Matthew Kinkead of Kyle, and Jaxon and Mikal Hogan of Helotes.
Henry taught his family the value of life, his legacy will remain in our hearts.
