

She will always be remembered by her children as a woman of faith, honesty, and integrity, who instilled high values and morals by example. Her kind, gentle, nurturing manner was felt not only by her children, but by everyone who knew her. One of her favorite things was to cook and share meals with her family, friends and neighbors.
Her children credit her for always bringing family together.
She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Concepcion Gomez who passed away in 1998, her son, Ramiro who passed away at age 2 in 1955, her parents, Manuel and Gabina; and sister, Eva.
She is survived by her five children: Carlos Gomez (wife, Linda); Maria Elena Zepeda (husband, Roy); Bertha Pena, Laura Gomez, Pedro Gomez and brother-in-law, Lalo Gomez (wife, Martha), who she helped raise. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Monica Alcala (husband, Aaron); Julie Salinas (husband, Mark); Michelle Rodeheaver; Justin Gomez; Paul Dominguez; Valerie Pena; Joshoa Dominguez; Stephanie Pena; Sarah Fernandez; Randy Fernandez; and her great-grandchildren: Loren Alcala, Ian Hargis, Michael Alcala, Zaide Meddeb, Zac Meddeb, Rylen Salinas and Josh Amen Dominguez; three brothers, three sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 pm, with the praying of the Rosary starting at 7:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, 1715 Zarzamora, with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2, 746 Castroville Rd.
Because of her great love for all children, in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
