She was a devout and long time member of St. John Berchmann's Catholic Church and contributed significantly to the community. Hilda adored flowers and gardening; all who knew her, will miss her sense of humor, endearing ways and distinctive caring toward others.
She was a devoted wife and mother and was committed to raising her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Sarah Palacios.
Hilda is survived by her husband, James De La Zerda Sr.; daughter, Blanca Garcia, son-in-law, Dr. Paul Garcia; son, Jim E. De La Zerda Jr. and wife, Irene; and beloved grandson, Paul J. Garcia.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Paul Garcia for all his love and care. We would also like to thank and extend our gratitude to the Staff at Huebner Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center, especially Betsy Duvall and Naomi Garcia, as well as the staff at Evercare Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
