

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jane Hewitt of Sidney, Ohio.
He is survived by his son, David G. Hewitt, wife Marianne and granddaughters Kristen and Kelly of Lake Forest, IL; son, John G. Hewitt of San Antonio, Texas, grandson Brian Hewitt, wife Maggie and great- grandchildren Isabella and Brian, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, granddaughter Kimberly Graffius, husband David, great-grandchildren Anthony and Sophie of Hutto, Texas; son, Thomas G. Hewitt, wife Patricia, granddaughter Katie Goddard, husband Lawrence and great-grandchildren Tommy and Danny, granddaughter Amy, husband Desmond, great-granddaughter Anna, granddaughter Diana Vann, husband Kyle all of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Roberta G Norris, husband Stephen, grandson Eric, wife Krista, and granddaughter Sarah Venslauskas, husband Joe all of New Braunfels, Texas.
He was extremely proud of his family as well as his military career. Horace retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the United States Coast Guard after 26 years of service. His happiest days were serving his country and enjoying his retirement years in Columbus, Ohio and New Braunfels, Texas. He loved all kinds of sports, particularly the Ohio State University Buckeyes football team and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
We will be forever thankful for the tremendous staff at Sterling House, Hope Hospice and Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital.
