Howard Jasper Goings, age 87, completed his journey on earth and began his heavenly journey on Monday, February 20, 2017. Born on July 21, 1929 in Princeton, WV to William and Arabel Goings, CW2 Goings served his nation for 26 years fighting in both the Korean conflict and Vietnam War.
He was a member of Bulverde Baptist Church. His legacy of faith, and commitment to his Lord, Jesus Christ was exemplified in his courage, compassion and his love for others, especially his family.
Survivors include his children Howard M. Goings and wife Marcy; Pastor Steven W. Goings and wife Cindy; Todd A. Goings and wife Cara; Theresa A. Goings; and his Sister, Lola Mills. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Marcia, Joyce, Nathan, Cayla, Laurel, Taylor, Justin and Jayden as well as several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 23 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday February 24, at Bulverde Baptist Church, the Rev. Richard Loser officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Goings’ memory to the Bulverde Baptist Church Building Fund.
