Hoy Sylvester Russell II

Hoy was born August 30, 1976 in Tyler, Texas. Moving to North Dakota at the age of 6, he spent most of his younger years in Bismarck and finished out his education there. He moved back to Texas in 1995 and enjoyed working, doing large building demolition and operating heavy equipment. He was an extremely hard-working individual which never went unnoticed. He had a huge heart; he loved everyone, and especially enjoyed family and being together. He was a loving father, husband, brother and friend. Hoy loved working on cars and motorcycles and was happy to help out any friend in need. He loved to barbecue and will always be remembered for how he could bring out a smile in others or fill a room with his hearty laugh (and sneezes). He will be greatly missed.

Hoy was preceded in death by his parents Irvin Russell and Judy Dinyer; and father-in-law Jose Manuel Santo.

Hoy is survived by his wife Laura, her two daughters, Victoria and Kathryn; children Ember and Jesse; sisters, Mary (Ben) Chamberlain, Texas, Tracey (Will) Carrier, Texas, JJ (Greg) Erickson, Colorado, Barbra (Marlin) Weichel, Texas, Natalya (Jason) Young, Nebraska; sister-in-laws Rosella and Yvette (John); brother-in-laws Jose Manuel, Jr. (Martha), Gilbert (Crystal), Andres (Stacey), and Adrian; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank family and friends for all your love and support. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you contribute to his church, True Believer’s Praise and Worship Sanctuary in San Antonio, or your church family in his name. The family has also set up an educational fund for his youngest son, Jesse.

A funeral service for Hoy will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at True Believer's Praise & Worship Sanctuary, 4509 Pleasanton Rd, San Antonio, TX 78221.
