SEPTEMBER 25, 1938 – JULY 4, 2025
Inez L. Sparks, affectionately known as Jo, passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on September 25, 1938, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania to parents Inez Hilda Witherite and Lewis McCracken.
Jo was known for being faithful, hardworking and thoughtful. On June 23, 1956, Jo married Verlon Sparks, with whom she shared a loving marriage for 60 years. Together they had two boys, Kenneth and David. It was important to Jo to obtain her high school equivalency, and she proudly did so in 1988. She worked a variety of jobs, including being a lithographer. She will be remembered as a great cook, known for her delicious meals, especially her rolls.
Jo was faithful and was a longtime member of the Church of Nazarene. She had so many special moments and friends from the church including her Life Group.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verlon Jackson Sparks; siblings, Harry McCracken, Seth McCracken, Julia Cofer, and Blanche Fink McCallah. Jo is survived by her children Kenneth Verlon Sparks and spouse Tracy, and David Wayne Sparks and spouse Mary; her grandchildren Krista Gilreath and spouse Jason, Katy Sparks, Caleb Sparks, Joshua Sparks and spouse Brittany, Kaitlin Sparks, Emily Sparks, David Sparks, Benjamin Sparks, Jonathan Sparks, and Eli Sparks; great grandchildren, Christopher Bradley, Daniel Bradley, Kristen Bradley and Mia Sparks; siblings, Shirley Wilson, Raymond McCracken and Jean Shaffer.
