Iris Hernandez Lee

Iris Hernandez Lee, age 44, went to be in the presence of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 31, 2023, in San Antonio, TX. She was born on November 12, 1979 in San Antonio, TX to Noe Hernandez and Carolina Peña.

Iris was an artist, loved journaling, traveling in state and abroad, attending concerts, loved movies, loved puppies, loved books, reading books, audio books, reviewing books, spending hours at bookstores new and used and never tired of talking about books. Iris was a bookmaker as well. Iris studied art at Savannah College of Art and Design at the age of 16. Studied Graphic Arts Design at Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI after graduating from high school. She continued Studies in Book Binding at UTSA and achieved a Bachelor of Arts at UTSA. In conjunction with the UTSA studies in book binding, she also attended Universidad Internacional de Arte de Florencia, Italy.She is proceeded in death by her paternal grandmother Maria de los Angeles Hernandez; her maternal grandmother Landelina Canales; and her paternal grandfather Nicefore Peña, Jr.

Iris is survived by her father Noe Hernandez; her mother Carolina Peña; her husband David Michael Lee; her sister in Law Jaime Koch (Wes Koch) and nieces Malia and Carter Koch.
