

Isidro “Preston” Cerda, III, beloved father, son, brother, and devoted servant to his country, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the age of 39. Born on March 14, 1986, in San Antonio, Texas, Preston lived a life defined by courage, devotion, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Preston’s greatest pride and joy was his son, “Lil” Preston, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his loyalty, love, and support for them never wavered.
A man of honor and integrity, Preston proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring on May 1, 2025, with military honors. Throughout his distinguished career, he completed three tours in Iraq, led security teams for Air Force One, and oversaw critical security operations at a nuclear base in the West. His service was marked by bravery, excellence, and unwavering commitment to protecting his country.
In addition to his military career, Preston was an accomplished scholar and entrepreneur. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. He also obtained his drone pilot’s license and launched his own drone business, a reflection of his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to continual learning and growth.
Preston’s presence was a blessing to his family and community. He is survived by his cherished son, Preston Cerda; his loving parents, Linda and Greg Jerralds; his father, Isidro Cerda Jr.; siblings, Rafael, Lauren and Greg Jr.; grandmother, Celestine Jerralds; along with extended family members and dear friends.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his precious son, Leighton, and grandparents Martha, Albert, Raymond, Isidro Sr., and Louisa.
Preston will be remembered not only for his achievements but for his kind heart, steady guidance, and the joy he brought to those around him. A devoted father, son, and brother; a faithful servant; and a man of principle, his memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
May Preston rest in peace, and may his legacy of love, strength, and service live on through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services for Preston will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Dr, San Antonio, TX 78232. Interment with full military honors will follow that same day at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
