He was a graduate of the University of Texas, while he was in school he worked for Robert Kanewske Gas Station. Jack also worked for the Austin Chamber of Commerce and moved to San Antonio, TX to work for A.H. Robins Pharmaceutical Co and retired as a sales representative for Pfizer Pharmaceutical. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Grand Lodge of Texas Prospect Hill #1247, the American Legion Post 0410 in Lake Hills, TX and the Shriners International.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Wood in 2000; and his brother, Fred Buckner in 1973. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Florence H. Buckner and his son, Bryan Buckner.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s name to the charity of your choice.
