He was a veteran of WWII as a Lt.Col. in the U.S. Army Air Corps where he served as Chief Flight Surgeon at Randolph AFB. It was during this time that he decided to raise his family in San Antonio.
Dr. Wright opened his Pediatric practice with his partner, Frank Martin, M.D. where he continued to provide medical care to the children of San Antonio until his retirement in 1998 at age 86.
He was an avid outdoorsman and in his free time he enjoyed golfing with friends at Oak Hills Country Club, hunting and or fishing with friends and family as well as gardening. Throughout his life, he was an ardent pilot, owning several planes until the early 1990's. His years of medical experience and common sense remedies enabled him to treat his patients in a compassionate and effective manor whether at his office or on a house call. Many of his patients were fourth and fifth generations of former patients.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses, physicians and others who have expressed their warm memories of working with Dr. Wright. The family also expresses their sincere appreciation to Ethel Robinson and her husband, Robby for all the love, care and friendship that they shared with him.
