A fourth generation native Texan, Jackie was born in San Angelo to parents Billy Jo and Howard W. Green. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1970, where she was a Tex-Ann and then a cheerleader.
After earning an advertising degree from Texas Tech University, Jackie founded an advertising agency in Wichita Falls and became the Publishing Supervisor for the Wichita Falls Magazine. She later served as the Executive Director of the San Antonio Riverwalk Association, where she returned holiday lighting to the Riverwalk.
Jackie loved horses and became an accomplished equestrienne. She founded Duende Farm in La Vernia, where she raised and bred Arabian horses, one of which was a U.S. National Champion Arabian Stock Horse—Oktober Knight.
Jackie is survived by her sister, Gail Morris and husband, Jim, of Montgomery; her brother, Howard W. (“Wes”) Green Jr. and wife, Laren, of San Angelo; sister Dulcie Wink and husband, Marc, of Katy; five nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial contribution in Jackie’s name to the charity of your choice.
