Jacqueline Harbin, born on December 6, 1922, passed away June 22, 2021 at the age of 98. Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Albert V. Harbin. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Ludwig (Daniel); grandson, Michael Molnar; and two great-grandsons, Sebastian and Dominic Molnar.
Jacqueline was born in Le Havre, France to Rene and Marthe Fink. She met Albert during World War II when he was stationed in Le Havre. A city girl, she found transition to south Texas challenging. Albert loved her French cooking and her sense of fashion. She said she lost her biggest fan when he died.
Jacqueline imbued her family with the French culture and our French heritage. We are close to our French cousins because of frequent trips to spend time with family. She made history lessons come alive with her stories of living in occupied France. She was opinionated and always ready to discuss current events both local and world. She was part of the local French community and never missed celebrating “le quatorze juillet” and all the important soccer matches.
Jacqueline delighted in spending time with her family. She was very loved by us and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
