James Thomas Coleman

James T. Coleman (Pete) passed away on March 4, 2025, at the age of 87 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Lynette, AL to Ben and Winnie Mae Coleman. His preceded in death by his parents; his brothers; Ben, Thamas, William and Quilliam. He was married to Joan G. Coleman who passed away in 2018. They were married for 55 wonderful years. He survived by his children: Dan Coleman (Kelli), Toni Altum (Johnny): grandchildren: Brittney, Kent and Grace; two great-granddaughters: Emma and Ella; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was a devoted husband, father and for over 20 years was a buyer for Dillard's Department Store. Before joining Dillard's he owned his Men's Clothing business in North Carolina where he established himself as a well-respected member of the retail community and set the standard for excellence in his field. Throughout his career, he mentored many up-and-coming retailers and encouraged them to raise the bar and take chances to achieve success. His sense of humor and his strong love for his family along with his faith in God, guided him through life. Services will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio TX. Following the Funeral Services will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio TX.
