

James Jr. was a 2003 graduate of John Jay High School. James Jr. joined the Navy after graduation and served 8 years with tours in Italy and Japan. James left the military to pursue his love of cooking and graduated from the Art of Institute of San Antonio. Even though James Jr. did not get the opportunity to complete his passion of cooking to culinary school in Italy, It gave great pleasure to cook for the elderly at both Morningside ministries in Boerne and Morningside at the Meadows. James had many passions in life, including traveling, reading, gaming with his Navy brothers and friends and most of all spending time with his nephew, nieces and family.
He is preceded in death by his mother Claudette Eldridge.
James Jr. is survived by his father James and bonus mother Barbara Diggs; brothers Darius (Karen), Steven, Michael (Priscilla), Christopher (Alyssa) and Ky; Sisters Kelly, Danielle (Oscar) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Darius Wiley, Steven Goff, Michael Goff, Christopher Diggs-Goff, Brandon Diggs, Kalvin Martinez and Konoa Thornburg.
A visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, located at 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238, on February 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life is scheduled at the same location on February 16, 2026, at 7:00 pm with Reverend Curtis Diggs officiating.
The committal service will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, on February 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
