

James Thomas Egan, age 90, passed away on August 6, 2022, in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Racine, WI on September 22, 1931. Jim graduated from St. Catherine’s School and then studied at the University of Wisconsin. Jim went onto honorably serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was discharged in 1955. He was married to Judith Klinge on April 2, 1956. Jim had a career in flight training and crew qualification for American Airlines for 35 years which took them from Madison, WI to Streamwood, IL, Levittown, NY and Arlington, TX. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Harp and Shamrock Society of San Antonio and had a passion for the Green Bay Packers and University of Wisconsin sports. Above all else, he loved his grandkids, which included watching his granddaughter cheer at events and his grandsons playing sports! He was a lover of jazz music, golf, going to the gym, taking walks, and always making new friends wherever he went!
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Egan and Marie C. Mikulecky. He is survived by his wife, Judith Egan; his children, Brian (Carrie) Egan, Matthew Egan, Amy (Paul) Mazeika; his grandchildren, Caitlin Egan, Conor Egan, Egan Mazeika, Eli Mazeika and Easton Mazeika; his sisters, Betty Johnson and Judith Schoedl.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9th at 10:30 am with a Memorial Service at 11:30 am at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, TX 78258. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 pm. In honor of Dad’s love of bright colors and/or the Packers, we are wearing something bright or green and gold! In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Meals on Wheels or a local charity of your choice.
